Cake smashing seems to have been a thing for a while now, and this week I had the privilege to photograph little Theo having a smashing time, destroying the beautiful birthday cake his grandmother had made for him.
I arrived at the family garden party, and although I'd brought my own food and water as usual, I was invited by the family to join in for the food and drink, and I enjoyed the beautiful sunshine while getting to know the various family members.
With the day being bright and sunny, I knew I could employ one of my favourite photographic styles, with the sunlight behind the subjects. There's nothing quite like that golden glow surrounding the subjects, not to mention the lack of squinting eyes :)
We had already arranged to do a second day of shooting, with just Ana-Maria, Curtis and Theo. for a more relaxed afternoon of photography; so we met up at the beautiful Abbey Gardens in Bury St Edmunds.
Theo was in such a happy mood, that is was so easy for me to grab some great images, full of smiles, and once again, the skies were clear and bright and little Theo had his sunblock on :)
Although, now 1 year old and already showing signs of one day being a strong lad, little Theo began his miraculous journey an incredible 100 days early and weighing just 1.6lbs! It was a real pleasure to meet him, and see his beaming smile :)
The day was finished with good conversation, people watching and a well earned beer at Edmundo's in town :)
Most photoshoots finish up with about 50-60 fully finished images for the clients to choose their favourite 12. However, this being a bit of a dual shoot, their private portfolio has over a hundred fully finished images! Of course they couldn't just chose 12, so they just had to buy more :)

All photoshoots are quoted for individually and are based on your individual requirements. However, costs generally start at £350 for a basic photoshoot, providing 24 hi-res digital image files and 12 of them as 10x8 prints, usually from a choice of around 50+ fully edited and finished images. Your images are made available within your own private, password protected portfolio.
